Izabela recommends the The 4-Hour Work Week: Escape the 9-5, Live Anywhere and Join the New Rich, by Tim Ferriss, which is widely popular in the United States – but not so much in the United Kingdom. This book deserves to be known by many people, as it is one of the best books we have read.
From a unique and interesting perspective, it is a good read because you can apply the tips that Tim recommends in there to different situations in your life.
Quite a big chunk of the book talks about how to break away from a 9 to 5 job. So it tells you what to do when you’re stuck at work and when you have to go to the office. The author gives you amazing tips as to how you can convince your boss that you are actually more productive at home.
I truly believe that society is increasingly heading towards working from home, as more and more people who are lifestyle designers are going to move specifically to the Isle of Wight, not because they like it here, but because they will realise that they can work from home and they don’t have to be in the office.
The book also teaches you how you can work smarter and not harder. One aspect of this is how you can outsource work and computing the worth of your hour, and finding someone you can pay less to do the work for you, which will give you additional time for more important things. To sum it up, the main takeaway of the book is that there is always someone who could help you do things, so that you can achieve more and be productive.
